finally, a bike!
I just bought a used, but good, mountainbike for 60 AU$ (about 38 Euros). I reckon that this is a sensible price.
How to attract students?
Offer free food, preferably a barbeque! I had a couple of free lunches in the last few weeks. Maybe I’m a cheapskate, but I think I’m not. I went there to have fun and meet people. Oh yes, here in Australia it is possible to have barbeque outside in the middle of winter! There are a couple of electrical barbeque places around campus which can be used for free by anyone.
Word of the week
The word of the week is op-shop. An op-shop is a second-hand store, usually for clothing and household goods. If one needs a cheap creative outfit for one evening, that’s the place to go… (unfortunately, most of the pictures from yesterday evening are probably too embarrassing to post online :-))
There is noch such thing as a free lunch — or is there?
Students are cheapskates. They try to get free stuff wherever they can.
Even though the outside temperature rarely goes above 15 degrees these days and it’s freezing during the night, the Aussies still love to have barbeque-their national dish-for lunch.
